Project Section
You need to add projects before moving on to the financials section.
Where to find it
- In the dashboard sidebar, click Projects.
- If you are on the main page, you can also hit Step 2 on the progress bar banner.
Identify Projects You Performed
Review the projects performed by your company and filter through the eligibility requirements for SR&ED. Ensure they meet each criteria.
Add a New Project
In order to generate a draft of your technical narrative, you'll need to input your project information. To get started:
- Press Add Project (top-right).
- Enter a Title, Start Date, Completion Date, and Field of Science.
- Confirm that the Shredy Writer will generate a draft (if not confirmed, you will be directed to a page without the Shredy Writer involved).
- Click 'Create Project'
Ensure the correct tax-year is selected at the top-right of your screen before adding a new project.
Go through the Shredy Writer Questionnaire
Answer each tab, one by one. Ensure to click Save & Continue after each tab is complete.
We include 'Generate' Buttons next to certain text boxes to help autofill the form using the previous information provided. Be sure to edit and review the outputs carefully.
If you have a PDF document that contains your project information, either in a pitch deck, product plan, product results, we have a PDF processor at the bottom of the first Tab ('Title and Hypothesis') to help autofill the questionnaire.
Submit & Let Shredy Writer generate your technical narrative.
The Shredy writer then processes the information, self-audits for CRA guidelines and best practices, and outputs your technical narrative. You will be directed to the technical report after completion, or can visit the report through the: Dashboard > Projects Tab > Actions Button > Technical Report.
Complete each technical report and confirm when they are complete.
Each technical report has a green button to confirm the completion.
Complete each project report and confirm that they are complete.
Each project report can be found by clicking 'Actions'>'Project Information'.
Confirm Completion of Project Section
Once all the project and technical reports are confirmed and complete, click "Confirm Completion of Projects Secrtion". You can now move on to the Financial Section.
Additional Information
Open the Additional Info tab to add:
- Preparer type and name (internal / external)
- Key individuals & their experience
- Foreign labour, collaborations, or 3rd-party work
Marking the Project Complete
- Return to the Projects table.
- Click the **⋯** menu › **Mark Complete**.
- The Status column changes to *Complete* and the progress bar updates.
Tip: You can toggle back to Incomplete at any time to make edits.
